Composer, trumpeter, researcher
Yohan Giaume is a composer, trumpeter, producer, ethnomusicologist and historian. He develops artistic and research projects on the cultural circulations that shaped the musical traditions of the Atlantic world, combining composition, historical research, fieldwork and digital humanities.
FORTHCOMING
Current projects include the publication of The French Opera House in New Orleans, the first book-length history of this landmark nineteenth-century institution, forthcoming from Louisiana State University Press; Whisper of a Shadow, Opus 2, a new album exploring the connections between opera and the emergence of jazz in New Orleans; and an ambitious digital and acoustic reconstruction of the French Opera House, bringing this lost theater back to life through historical research and new technologies.
